More Information
MarIé grew up in Upington in the Northern Cape, where she matriculated from high school. She studied Travel & Tourism Management and worked in the Tourism Industry for 5 years. In 2012, she started working in the wine industry as Public Relations Officer a co-operative wine cellar. It was her dream job. She loves working with and meeting new people and also being creative.
Marlé’s husband, Johan, is a sheep farmer on the family farm near Upington and after they decided to start a family, she moved to the farm where she lived for 8 years. She loved being at home to raise their son, WP and being so close to nature. From home, she did the administration of a nearby hunting lodge. After a long drought in the area, Johann and Marlé decided that it was time for a new challenge, while they are still young and able. They decided to rent out the farm for a few years to seek new opportunities and to be together as a family while their son can go to school directly from home. They then moved to Kleinmond in the Western Cape.
Marlé’s favourite pastime is reading a good book, doing family research and spending time with her family. She also likes art and animals.
