Carla Delaney grew up and matriculated in Cape Town.
She completed her law degree at the University of Port Elizabeth and went on to be admitted as an attorney, notary, and conveyancer. To complement her legal expertise with additional business skills, she qualified as an international mediator and completed the Wits Business School’s ‘Management Advancement Programme’.
Her legal background has supported her real estate journey not only by keeping abreast of legislation but also by concluding transactions in Africa and abroad.
Carla is married to Jeremy, and they live on a homestead in Smartt Syndicate, near Britstown in the Northern Cape with their two girls. She recently left a large corporate property investment company in Cape Town, to move to the Northern Cape. Here she embarked on the adventure of renovating ‘the old Koshuis’ and establishing their homestead at Smartt.
Carla shares some renovating tips: “Renovating properties can often take longer than planned and cost more than budgeted for. Formulate a list of what needs to be done and what you would like to do. Cost it using local suppliers and materials, as items in the rural areas are not always as available or priced the same as the cities.”
She is operating as an Agrisell agent in the Northern Cape and runs her own legal and corporate governance practice from home.
Carla is passionate about people and community projects that make a difference in others’ lives. She supports The Sprightly Seed (a kitchen and sustainable food garden initiative in Cape Town) but her priority remains to enjoy time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
