Farming – and some wine – is in his blood.
Property agent Arend Adriaandse is a wine- and vegetable farmer from Vredendal, Western Cape. He was born there and after completing his degree at Elsenburg Agricultural College in Stellenbosch, returned to farm in this warm summer region.
His three years in logistics for a mining consulting company added to his experience. Apart from wine grapes and raisins, the family farms with seed crops and vegetables and he understands the intricacies of irrigation and water requirements of crops. “The warm dry summers and irrigation water from the Olifant’s River irrigation scheme of Klawer-Vredendal regions is ideal for cash crops such as tunnel farming, tomatoes as well as various grape types – raisins, wine, and table grapes.”
“New citrus plantings such as soft citrus and lemons are also growing in this region”, he added.
He joined Agrisell in October 2022 and focuses on assisting prospective buyers and sellers of agricultural land as he has firsthand experience in various agricultural sectors. Farming is his passion, and he has learned a lot over the past few years during all the challenges the agricultural sector is facing.
“In 2022 I married my beautiful wife, Bianca, probably the best decision of my life! We live for our family and friends and enjoy spending quality time with them.” Arend is active and outgoing and enjoys exercising like mountain biking whenever he has time.
